The National Clergy and Lay Women Humanitarian Foundation :

The National Clergy and Lay Women Humanitarian Foundation is a 501(c) 3 organization that supports the work of clergywomen and lay women in establishing a just quality and fullness of life and peace education for a democratic society. The Foundation proceeds from the assumption that women’s spiritual and religious leadership contributes to the spiritual, moral and equitable uplift of society.

We recognize the critical role that clergywomen and lay women do play in the transformation of society and, while vastly undervalued and seldom supported, the results of their commitment and perseverance are experienced at every level of society, vital to the promotion of the public good. We are committed to identifying and sustaining their public charitable activities through the provision of substantial resources that would enhance their social involvement.

The Foundation seeks to advance the novel and creative ways women’s spiritual and religious leadership synergizes what it means for a clergy or lay woman to unite faith and social activism in the public sphere.

The Foundation commits to and embraces an interfaith understanding of clergywomen and lay women’s leadership. For the explicit purpose, our goal is to foster bi-partisan collaboration across the narratives of faith to build, stabilize and promote harmonious local, state, and national sustainable communities.

The Foundation gives primary consideration to those public charitable programs or organizations resourcing communities or individuals most affected by economic, social, mental, and physical disparities. We seek to respond to the social problems of homelessness, AIDS, teen pregnancy, lack of peace or non-violent education in public schools, discrimination, violence against women, youth offenders’ recidivism, and the growing inequality and widespread poverty in low income communities—critical issues in society that cannot be resolved without also the leadership and participation of women.
